Structural engineering services
For homeowners, contractors and professionals: drawings signed and sealed by a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, in wood, steel and concrete.
Removing or opening a load-bearing wall
We confirm on site whether the wall is load-bearing, size the new beam (engineered wood or steel), the posts and their supports down to the foundations, and prepare drawings for the permit and your contractor, including temporary shoring. In Québec, the Engineers Act reserves drawings of structural elements to engineers, unless the work fully applies the prescriptive solutions of Part 9 of the Building Code.
Structural inspection: cracks and sagging
Foundation crack, sloping floor, sagging beam, signs of snow overload: we inspect, find the cause and explain clearly whether the structure is affected and what to do. Depending on the mandate, you receive a report and repair or reinforcement drawings.
Engineering drawings for your building permit
When your municipality requires an engineer's drawings, we prepare the structural drawings, details, specifications and calculations, signed and sealed by an OIQ member.
Additions and extra storeys
We check what the existing foundations and framing can carry, calculate snow and wind loads, and design the new structure and its connection to the existing building.
Contractors and professionals
Construction supervision, seismic analysis, BIM / Revit modelling, steel and concrete shop drawings, commercial and multi-unit projects.
